• The players listed on the team entry form are the registered members of that team.
• Should a team wish to play a player who is not listed on the original entry form, a new player form, which includes name, contact details, date of birth, Netball Victoria membership number, team and grade last played, must be lodged with the Competition Manager or
• Should a player who was last registered in a higher grade wish to play in a lower grade, permission must be obtained from the Competition Manager or Supervisor prior to that player taking the
• At the conclusion of each season, players are free to change clubs / Once a player has played for a team, they cannot

 

transfer to another team in that competition during the season, without first obtaining a clearance as outlined below.

• The player requiring the clearance must contact the team in which they are currently registered and request a

• Should a Club enter two or more teams, the players may move from their original registered team to a team in a higher section until said player has played 3 times in a higher section, when they will be considered to be registered with the higher team.
• In the event of a club having two or more teams entered in the same section on one night, the teams are considered separate and players must play for one team exclusively.
• In the event of a club disbanding during the current season, players are at liberty to play with another club provided all outstanding monies owed by that player are paid, they are not the subject of any disciplinary action and permission is sought from the Competition Manager before moving to a lower grade.

• • 6 Eligibility

              6.1 Players’ ages are determined at 31^st of December of the playing year.

    The minimum age requirements are:

    • Open sections: 15 years (ie player must be 14 years or over in actual age at the time of playing).
    • 17 & under sections: 14 years (and under 18 years on the first day of competition).
    • 15 & under sections: 12 years (and under 16 years on the first day of competition).
    • 13 & under sections: 11 years (and under 14 years on the first day of competition). Males may play in this section.
    • 11 & under sections: 9 years (and under 12 years on the first day of competition). Males may play in this section.

     

    6.2  The Association observes the Netball Victoria Gender Regulation in regard to male participation.

    1. Males who are 13 years (and older) are not permitted to participate in competitions that are specified ‘female’. This means that males must be less than 13 years of age (actual age) as at the first day of the competition or season; and males who turn 13 during that competition or season will be permitted to participate for the duration of that competition or season.

     

    • The Association observes the Netball Victorian Gender Regulation in regard to mixed competition. Mixed competition for the 15&U and above age groups will observe the following rules:
    1. The minimum number of males in a team is ZERO, and
    2. A mixed team must have a maximum of 3 males on court at any one time, and
    3. A mixed team must only have one male in each third on court.

     

    For the avoidance of doubt this means:

    • One male is permitted in the defence third occupying the position of Goal Defence or Goal Keeper, and
    • One male is permitted in the mid third occupying the position of Centre, Wing Attack or Wing Defence, and
    • One male is permitted in the goal third occupying the position of Goal Attack or Goal Shooter.

     

    6.4 The penalty for playing an ineligible player is reversal of the score should the offending team win the game.

     

• The playing rules will be those of the All Australian Netball Association
• Duration of matches will be fixed by the Competition Manager and timed with a central clock.
• All matches shall be played on courts as directed by the Competition Manager.
• Four (4) points will be awarded for a win and a bye; two (2) points for a draw.
• Teams must take the court when five or more of their registered players are present at the scheduled time.
• If five or more players are not present at the scheduled time, the first quarter shall be allowed after which time the match will be awarded to the opposing team, provided that five or more of its registered members are present and on court.
• Teams may be penalised one (1) goal for each minute late onto the court if so directed by the Supervisor.
• Teams receiving a walkover will be credited with a score of 10 goals to 0.
• Should a team not attend or give less than 48 hours notice of their

inability to field a team they shall be fined both teams’ court fees.

• When a team is aware in advance of their inability to field a team and more than 48 hours notice is given, they shall be fined both teams’ court fees, less the umpires’ fees.
• Special consideration can be requested from the Competition Manager for exceptional circumstances, g. bereavement, and the fine in 8.9 or 8.10 can be waived.

 

• Junior teams will not be fined provided a minimum of 24 hours notice is given.
• In the event of a power failure or restrictions, extreme weather conditions, or if the courts are unavailable for some reason, the matches will be Each team will be awarded two points and bye teams four points.

• In the event of teams being level on points, the positions will be determined by the percentage of goals for and against.
• In the event of a draw in finals matches, the teams shall change ends and continue to play for 5 minutes each The interchange rule shall apply. If still a draw – toss for centre pass and the first team to score two goals is the winner.

9.  Scoresheets:

• The first named team will provide the official scorer unless otherwise designated on the fixture.
• A team, which fails to score as rostered will be required to have a player stand off and score until a suitable scorer is found. Scorers can be from the opposing team or any other person aged over 14 years deemed suitable.
• Each team shall be responsible for filling in the official score sheet correctly, including the full names of all players and substitutes.
• At the completion of the game, when the scorer is satisfied that the score is correct, they should sign the scoresheet, followed by the two captains and the officiating umpires.
• The captain of the winning team shall be responsible for delivering the scoresheet to the reception desk.

• Protests and appeals must be in writing and received by the Competition Manager within 48 hours of the match being
• A team wishing to lodge a protest must inform the competition Supervisor immediately after the game of their intention to protest
• The Board will deal with the protest; with three members forming a quorum, but no one connected with either team will be a member of the protest panel.

• 11.1 The Board may choose to have teams selected to represent the Association.

 

• 11.2 The Board will have the final approval of the teams selected.

 

• 11.3 The official Association uniform is predominantly dark blue and red. 

 

• 11.4 Eligibility:
  a.To be eligible to play in a representative team, a player must regularly play in a DDNA Competition.
  b.Special permission may be granted by the Board for a player that does not meet this criterion, for example a past player who regularly umpires.

 

• 11.5 Coaching Appointments:
  a. The Board shall approve all coaching appointments.

 

• b. All coaching positions to be advertised each year. The method of advertising to be determined by the Board.

 

• c. A person wishing to coach a representative team must submit an application on the approved form to the Board President. If deemed necessary, an interview panel may be convened.

 

• d. All appointments, except the position of Head Coach are for 1 year. The Head Coach appointment is for 3 years and will be reviewed annually.

 

• e. The appointment commences at the selection trials and concludes when the team finishes all tournaments.

 

• f. A coaching appointment may be terminated prior to its conclusion if deemed necessary by the Board.

  11.6 Selection of Teams:

 

• a. The Head Coach in conjunction with the office staff is responsible for organising the selection trials.

 

• b. Information about the date and time of the trials will be placed on the Association Noticeboard and advertised on social media.

 

• c. All players must have submitted the application form provided to trial.

 

• d. Players will be advised in writing of their success or otherwise within a reasonable time.

 

• 11.7 Selection panels:
  a. A minimum of 3 selectors must be appointed for each team and shall comprise of the Head Coach, Team coach and at least one other suitable person.

 

• b. Selectors may be appointed to more than one panel.

 

• c. The selectors’ decision will be final.

• 12 Team and Spectator Behaviour:

  12.1  All participants in any competition are required to observe the participants code of conduct (as attached Appendix 2).

  12.2  Officiating umpires, Competition Manager, Supervisor, office staff or Board members may report any player, teams, officials or spectators for misconduct. Such report to be in writing and received by the Competition Manager within 48 hours of the match being played and will be dealt with by a tribunal.

  12.3  A person that is reported shall not participate in any competition until they have appeared before a tribunal.

  12.4  Any person found guilty of breaching the Participants’ Code of Conduct shall be liable to disqualification from any Competition under the control of the Association for such time as may be decided upon by a tribunal hearing.

  Tribunals hearing will take place at a mutually convenient time, preferably before the next scheduled match of the reported person      

  (i)      Tribunal panels will consist of three persons comprised of elected Board members or Life Members.

  • Reported persons will be informed of the report and given a minimum of 48 hours notice of when they are required to attend the tribunal hearing.

  (iii)    The person will be notified of the tribunal’s decision before the next competition match.

  (iv)    Reported persons have the right of appeal to the Board of Directors against the tribunal process. Such appeal should be made within 24 hours of notification of the penalty

   

• 11   General

  • The Association accepts no liability for accidents or injuries incurred by any player or official participating in matches under the control of the Association
  • The Board will deal with any matter not covered by the foregoing rules as it sees fit.
  • The policies of Netball Victoria will be observed unless otherwise

  provided for.

• All players shall wear positional bibs/patches.

 

• Teams are required to wear an approved uniform consisting of the following items:

 

• A dress*
• A singlet
• A bodysuit
• A tee shirt, long or short sleeved
• A skirt*
• Shorts
• Long pants either lycra or track suit style
• any other approved item
• closed toe sports

*Skirts and dresses must be worn with sports briefs, bike pants, legging or shorts.

 

• Teams must ensure that these items are of similar designs to create continuity of uniform throughout the team and assist umpires to officiate the

 

• Uniform options must cater for all weather conditions, so players are protected from the sun and/or cold weather conditions (e.g., where conditions are cold, players can wear a long /short sleeved top under their uniform provided it has been approved and is the same colour).
• Uniforms must not present a genuine safety risk to the wearer or other players (i.e., open pockets, buttons, buckles or zips).

 

• Players may choose a uniform style that covers additional body surface including the legs, arms and/or These items must be in a block colour

 

Head coverings must be:

• made of soft
• tight and non-flowing, edges must be held securely or tucked into the
• not cover positional
• tied on or fastened by clips and non-sharp

 

• Jewellery must be removed. If jewellery is not able to be removed, the player accepts the risks involved. Jewellery which cannot be removed should be with padding/tape as necessary to prevent injury to others. Jewellery or other items which cannot be securely covered or taped must be

 

• Fingernails must be short and smooth, or taped using appropriate sports tape (not bandaids).
